Welcome to ORAC, We have been here for 3 amazing years, and hope to be here for many many more. This team has blossomed into more than double what it was when we opened the doors. Growth like this can only be, attributed too "you", our ORAC family. By you coming to to see us we have been able to heal, educate and learn together as a community.
March is Heartworm Awareness Month..... Heartworms are parasites that live in the right side of our canine and feline patient's hearts. Heartworms are transmitted from the bite of infected mosquitos. Here in the gulf coast region heartworm disease is endemic due to the overabundance of mosquitos, thus all our furry friends are at risk, even inside animals! Fortunately, there are several excellent monthly preventatives that will protect your pet from heartworm infection. At Oak Ridge Animal Clinic we emphasize year round prevention of heartworms, heartworm disease is a condition that is much easier 
to prevent rather than treat. Once a dog is infected they must be treated to kill the adult heartworms, causing discomfort for our patients and unnecessary expense for our clients. Prevention costs only 10 to 15 dollars per month whereas treatment can cost up to a
